I am sorry. This a Dutch site. You probably have a hard time understanding it. Let me tell you what the site is about.
I started the site because of the publication of Edutopia, a book in which I developed ideas for a better educational system.
Starting point for this essay are the three questions:
Why?
What?
How?
Any discussion about education should be based on the answers given on the questions:
Why do we send children to school?
Only when we have proper answers to that question, we can discuss: "What shall we let the children learn in school?"
And only after having the answers on that question, it becomes interesting to discuss: "How shall we teach the children?"

Meanwhile something else cropped up.
I started, in Dutch, a book on this site called Het Lidmaatschap or "Membership". In this book I try to find a relation between the problems of our society and our history as hunter/gatherer. Our species exists for approximately 200 000 years. During this period we adopted ourselves to the life of a hunter/gatherer. Then quite suddenly we started an agricultural society, which brought about many changes in our life. The changes were too quick or there was not enough evolutionary pressure to change our genetic make-up. We managed with out hunter/gatherer mind to construct a new society based on many agreements together to be called culture. However, there is a constant disagreement between our hunter/gatherer mind and this new society in particular because of a tremendous population growth.
Maybe these lines might tempt you to learn Dutch in order to be able to read "Het Lidmaatschap".
